Head of Schools

Williamsburg Northside Schools

Brooklyn, NY 11211

Founded in 1999 as a progressive preschool, Williamsburg Northside Schools today offers three distinct programs in the culturally dynamic and diverse Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY. Programs are provided for infants and toddlers, preschoolers, and Lower School students through the fifth grade. WNS has just announced plans to add a Middle School, beginning with the introduction of sixth grade in the fall of 2018.

Now serving 375 children across three nearby campuses, WNS is poised for significant growth in the coming years. The Lower School moved into a spacious, state-of-the-art building in 2014, setting the stage for the eventual enrollment of more than 300 students in grades PK–8. The Infant and Toddler Center (ITC) and Preschool offer warm and enriching learning environments inspired by the child-centered Reggio Emilia approach. Building upon the love of learning and exploration that this philosophy inspires, the Lower School provides a strong academic foundation through an exciting and challenging interdisciplinary curriculum.

WNS is owned and operated by MetSchools, an education management company that oversees four New York City schools collectively serving approximately 1,000 students.

For a position to begin in the summer of 2017, MetSchools is seeking an experienced private school leader with exceptional interpersonal and administrative skills. The next Head of Schools will oversee the entire WNS program with a special focus initially on the creation of the Middle School, including the development of a cohesive PK-8 curriculum and the marketing of this dynamic and growing institution as one school with three campuses.

Acting on behalf of MetSchools, Wickenden Associates of Princeton, NJ, is actively recruiting talented school leaders for this exciting career opportunity. Prospective candidates may contact the lead consultants, Zachary White ( and Jim Wickenden (, to discuss the opportunity and the application process. Both may also be reached at 609-683-1355.
